Rant

We’re fed up with the buffoonery.

We spend hours each day idling on congested highways, shoving our way onto overcrowded subways, and creeping forward on overloaded tarmacs while government workers scratch their nether regions with rolls of our tax dollars.

The lazy politicians and inept bureaucrats whose job it is to manage our transportation infrastructure are failing us and blaming us for it. They have the nerve to say that the congestion is our fault.

They say we drive too much, ride the subways too much, fly too much. They say we should choose to live closer to the office or find alternative means of transportation.

They jack up tolls. They enact car and gas taxes. They increase subway fares. They make us pay for short-term parking and baggage carts at the airport.

They promptly flush this money down the toilet and ask us to become guinea pigs in social engineering experiments - congestion pricing, market-based carpooling, tax credits for hybrid vehicles - none of which ever work.

Then they ask for more of our tax money and use it to finance more boondoggles and entitlement spending.

We refuse to take it anymore. Until these hack politicians and bureaucrats spend our money on maintenance and expansion projects that benefit all of us, we will mercilessly ridicule and deride them like the lowly scoundrels they are.
